Community Resilience work is inherently local. It is therefore our vision that each bioregion in Northern California be fully represented with its own website, directory, governing body and unique projects. We think of each bioregional hub as a geographic node within the greater network of the Northern California region. Each node has its own processes, architectures, and communities. As bioregions are still in their germination stage, we at NorCal are supporting them in their self-organizing.
We will share various resources from each bioregion through our website as they bloom!
What is a Bioregional Hub?
In association with community activists and ecologists, Planet Drum developed the concept of a bioregion: a distinct area with coherent and interconnected plant and animal communities, and natural systems, often defined by a watershed. A bioregion is a whole “life-place” with unique requirements for human inhabitation so that it will not be disrupted and injured.
