An energetic crowd of more than 70 movers and shakers from around the Bay Area gathered at the East Bay Community Space to help launch the NorCal Community Resilience Network’s Circle of Collaborators on April 14th. The day started out beautifully with Gerardo Marin and Rafael Jesús González opening the space with a grounding ceremony rooted in Indigenous practices. Network founder Susan Silber introduced our vision, mission and work of the organization; while Luz O’Leary and Molly Hoffman spoke about the Circle of Collaborators and our vision for this innovative membership platform. Julian MoCine McQueen graced the stage as a facilitator, leading a memorable session about personal stories, based on his work with the Million Person Project.
Other highlights including a delicious dinner catered by Chef Neeka, rocking music from the Creative Liberation Network and a deep discussion about Decolonizing Permaculture by Susan Park and social justice pioneer Carl Anthony.
We appreciated everyone attending the day and look forward to how we can co-create a more regenerative world together! Many thanks to Ayako Nagano, the Gill Tract Community Farm, PLACE for Sustainable Living and El Cerrito Natural Grocery for their generous contributions.
