Transition Berkeley celebrated Earth Day with a good old-fashioned work party in South Berkeley. About 30 volunteers pulled on gloves and got to work in the Lorin District, near Adeline and Alcatraz Avenues. They picked up litter, pulled weeds and planted loads of native and pollinator friendly plants! The bees, butterflies and birds are estatic and the local people are enjoying the beautiful gardens and sweet scents. Come on by and enjoy! Special thanks to all the volunteers, Shallon Allen, and the Berkeley High Jazz musicians, who played during the event and Transition Berkeley!
